Jim Goodell founded INFERable in 2023 with a mission to make a material positive impact on systems of education, training, and human development. His professional and volunteer work in education data and learning technology standards and his leadership in the learning engineering community uncovered an inconvenient truth, that discoveries in learning sciences and learning analytics were going to waste. Researcher-developed analytics models were hidden in academic papers, often locked behind the paywalls of academic journals and encoded in academic jargon. Learning content and platforms were not benefiting from these methods. INFERable was formed to solve this problem. His work with technology standards and project like the U.S. Chamber of Commerse T3 Innovation Network uncovered another problem, that skills definitions were not available to support competency-based learning leveraging today's technologies. INFERables SKills Architecture addresses this.
